NovaBone Products, LLC distributes
bone grafts that are built on a bioactive
glass platform.
The bioactivity is cause by ionic release from the NovaBone particles. This
ionic release is a continuous process that begins immediately upon implantation.
NovaBone has been engineered to optimize the ionic release over time, especially
during the critically important initial weeks of healing. The ion release also
results in a significant increase in the porosity and surface area of the
NovaBone particles. The ionic release and the changes to the surface area of
NovaBone combine to stimulate osteoblasts involved in the repair process. Only
NovaBone displays this phenomenon, now termed “Osteostimulation” |

NovaBone
is a general orthopedic bone graft material that offers a scaffold for new bone
growth. In vitro testing has demonstrated that osteoblast activity is actually
higher than that seen with other merely osteoconductive synthetic materials such
as HA. This phenomenon is described in detail in the
"Osteostimulation"
section.

NovaBone Putty is a new surgeon
friendly format that is easy to handle and has all the osteostimulative
and bioactive properties of the particulate graft. Putty was
approved by FDA for orthopedic and Dental use in May '06. It is CE approved and
is being distributed world-wide for clinical use.
Putty is a new, next generation
Calcium-Phosphosilicate bone graft material built from a bioactive glass
platform with additives to improve handling and efficacy. Putty will truly
revolutionize the usage of bone graft substitutes. It has incredible handling
characteristics, yet delivering outstanding results!

disease and tooth extraction. Orthopedic indications include any osseous defect where a bone
graft material is needed.

NovaBone NovaBone is also
available in preformed blocks with multidirectional interconnected porosity. It
is indicated only for bone voids or defects that are not intrinsic to the
stability of the bony structure. Product provides an osteoconductive scaffold
that gets resorbed and replaced by bone.
